Although we cannot prove that they are making money, we would generally assume that this person is making money, they would stop spending the money. I will say this. I believe a lot of people just waste money on AdWords, literally waste money on AdWords.
Some people spend thousands of dollars a month and they’re making money in the rest of their business or making money on there AdWords. This isn’t definitive, but generally over time, if someone is continuing to advertise in AdWords, they’re continuing to pay money, on average, long term, they are converting. If it converts in AdWords, it makes money when you are spending that kind of money then generally it’s going to be able to convert somewhere else. The third thing that you can do, John, but again this goes back to that idea that you can’t know what answer it is until you do it, literally write ten articles or preferably 100 articles, or have somebody else write them for you on a particular proposed topic, see what kind of traffic you get, see how many subscribers you get and promote some kind of affiliate product to them.
Even if you don’t break even on it, you should able to get a feel whether these people have any propensity to spend money. Niche have a propensity to spend money. So again, if you write 100 articles, and this is real world and you’re going to spend some money on it, and hopefully you’ll make most of that back with the affiliate product. Generally, if you can get an affiliate product to convert to your subscribers then your own product will convert much, much better.
My own conversion rates are around three to four times higher than most of the time I refer somebody to somebody else’s site because there’s a credibility issue there. If I refer you to somebody else’s site, I referred you there because there’s some credibility there. But if I had my own product that does exactly the same thing you are going to be more likely to buy it because the trust level is higher. I know this does not perfectly answer the question but I believe this gets a whole lot closer than a lot of the formulas out there. I don’t believe there’s a formula out there to prove what’s going to make money on line, I think that you almost just have to get out there and do it.
