    Turn Your Car Into A College Of Success

    What do you do in your car while you’re driving to and from a presentation? Most people listen to the radio or their favorite CD. That’s called “down time.” Instead of just driving along and listening to your favorite station what would happen if you made that time between home and presentation a productive time? A learning time? What if you turned your car into a College of Success.

    You can turn your car into a College of Success by listening to motivational and how-to tapes and CD’s. Does your company provide you with information on tape and CD? Did you hear a motivational speaker and purchase their tape or CD? Did you go to your national convention and your company offers recordings of the speakers? In the car, while you’re driving to and from your presentation, is a perfect time to listen to them.

    Over the course of my direct selling career I’ve listened to recordings that I’ve picked up and I’ve listened to the radio. The radio has provided me with music I like to listen to, some news, and lots of commercials.

    On the other hand, recordings have provided me information on how to do my business better and easier, booking ideas, recruiting tips and selling techniques. When you listen to recordings, over and over again, they become a part of you. Then when you need that information it’s just “there.”

    This point was driven home to me when I was repeatedly listening to a recording that I had picked up at a national convention I had attended. I had heard the speaker and really liked her so I bought her tapes. Her talk was filled with ideas and so were her tapes. A hostess called and wanted to cancel her show because not that many people were coming. I gave her a response and she held the show. As I was driving to her show and listening to the tapes I heard, on the tape, exactly what I had said to the hostess. You might be interested to know there were seven people in attendance at the show, over $700 in sales and three bookings. I was delighted that I had the words I needed.

    I found this happening to me time and again. Without even thinking, I had the words I needed right there. The tapes I was listening to had become a part of me. Ideas would flow when I needed them.

But you know, you set aside this time from your busy life and so did the guests who are coming. Let’s go ahead and do the show and afterwards I’ll show you how you can increase your sales by getting orders from the people who couldn’t attend.”
