Writing Articles - 3 Critical Mistakes Every Article Author Should Avoid

Article authors must be careful not to make critical mistakes because their articles may not be read by their target audience, not to mention published and syndicated by others. Unfortunately, these mistakes are very common that many article authors, even experienced ones make them. The mistakes are easy to avoid though once you know them.
Articles are communication vehicles that business owners use to extend their reach to their target audience. Ideally, you talk one-on-one to every one of your prospect or customer, but this is often impossible to do due to time and distance limitations.
To communicate effectively in writing, you have to guess what the readers really want. Unlike in a conversation, you aren’t involved with the readers directly so this may be a barrier for effective communication.
However, there are ways to avoid unnecessary mistakes in this type of communication, here are they:
1. Using jargon
Not everyone in the industry understand jargon, especially newbies. Unless you are writing for a highly experienced audience, you should aim to avoid jargon whenever possible. If you must use them, make sure you provide a brief explanation about it.
2. Giving away too much
Don’t include everything you know about the topic in a single article. The rule of thumb is cover only one main idea per article. If you have different angles that you want to talk about, write another article.
3. Don’t make a point quickly
Avoid giving away too much background and other theories if that is not necessary. An article for syndication should be concise and to the point. If you can get the same idea across in 300 words, don’t include a lot of fluff just to make it longer.
Avoid those mistakes, and you’re on your way to write more readable articles.
